Oh man, I am behind on keeping you updated. It is just because the last month has been so full of amazing things. Since Chiang Mai, we have been to Phuket, back to Singapore, to Hong Kong, Beijing, back to Hong Kong and back to Singapore. I am now at the airport waiting for a flight out to Kathmandu, Nepal. Needless to say, we have been on the run - but what an adventure.
Beijing was super! We stayed with two lovely hosts, Kendra and Kyla. They basically planned our week for us, organized everything, borrowed bicycles and a cell phone from their fellow expats, and clothed me in the cold Beijing weather. Adventuring with Erin is quickly becoming one of my very favourite things to do, ever.
I don't have a lot of time to tell you all of the things we did but here is a summery: hutong shopping, Besnard Lakes concert, pedis, The Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, The Summer Palace, THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA (one of the best days of my life), Hot Pot, Chinese foot massages, a little rural mountain village, delicious homemade soup, visiting Kyla's school, The temple of Heaven, crazy packed Beijing subway ride, and Peking Duck.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who helped make Beijing so wonderful for us - including the Chinese Government, who organized wonderful sunshine and blue skies. I would suggest they ease up on the whole censorship issue though - just my two cents. It was getting pretty old by the end.
Off to Kathmandu now - I will definitely try and get back into the swing of things!

I am glad you enjoyed Beijing, and to enjoy it with Erin, well - it doesn't get better than that!! >^_^<
I want to go there now... but I think I will need your contacts in order for it to be as enjoyable as what you had! Lucky girl.
