Health and Wellness Update and a Favourite.

So. I find myself in an interesting place. I am way behind on my 24 favourites, but I have a very good excuse. This excuse is also what makes it pretty difficult to figure out what to write in this post.

Three weeks ago I was in a car accident at the hands of a drunk driver. The accident was pretty bad. I was rushed to the hospital in "serious" condition - which is, I am pretty sure, a formality until they are sure there is nothing wrong with you. I will, from here on in, call it "the incident" as Matt refuses to let me call it an "accident." There is simply nothing accidental about a drunk driver racing northbound on Macleod trail, losing control, and smashing into me while I am quite contently driving southbound. It was not an accident, it was an absolutely idiotic choice made by a man who is certainly old enough to know better.

One week ago I picked up my new car: A blue 2012 Honda Civic, which I Love! The blue is the color of the sky just after the sun has set - Blue time! I have named my car Artemis, after the Greek goddess, who "was the Hellenic goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women; she often was depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows" (thank you, Wikipedia). But more importantly, the etymology of the word is from the Ancient Greek "artemes" which means "safe." So there you go, I love my new blue-time car named Artemis.

As for my favourites... I am currently behind 8 things. I will try to get those up soon. But I will post one thing now:

13) Road trips: I love road trips. There is something special about driving down a wide open highway and just watching the landscape fly by. I especially love road trips in Alberta, because I truly think that we have one of the most stunning landscapes around. I love the farmer's fields, and the mountains. The prairies and, more importantly, the prairie skies. I love this land, and I think that if (when) I move away, I will miss it so much. There are three road trips that I am really hoping to get in one day soon: Across Canada to the East coast, and through BC and down the west coast to San Francisco. I would also love to drive up to the Yukon. I just imagine that these would be the most beautiful road trips ever.
Maybe Artemis and I will get going on one of these trips soon!
